  Elena spent many weeks planning the grand opening of her art gallery in Berlin. Along with cider and beer she planned to serve pfeffernuse sprinkled with tertiary colored sugar to coordinate with her gallery's color palette. On opening day she was horrified when the cookies arrived with white powdered sugar. Furious Elena called the bakery only to find out that the baker was a purist who felt that to color the pfeffernuss was a sacrilege. Apparently, he had announced to his staff that this was a case in which he would abrogate his responsiblity to please the customer's ridiculous request .

  Eccentric Jehovah's Witnesses

  so as not to hijack logcon's thread about crazy things jw's have said to householders, i'd like to start one about just plain old odd jw's.. for example, i knew this dear, dear senior brother who would carry a small bag of peanuts in one pocket of his suit coat and a small plastic bag of brown sugar in the other.. during that time, we would stay out all day long because the territory was extensive.. can't you just picture that precious soul alternately tossing a few peanuts/crumbs of sugar into his mouth as he schlepped from house to trailer, from trailer to house?.

  the householders would usually offer us water, lemonade, kool-aid, or soda pops, so no problem with finding something to quench our thirsts.. those were the days!.

  There was an old eccentric brother who always thought he had a call but if you went with him it was not the right place. He would say do you want to live or do you want to die and then he proceeded to give detailed instructions to the kingdom hall the householder usually felt sorry for him and attempted to listen to his ramblings. One time I went on one of his mysterious calls we opened the gate and there was a screen door and soon one dog, two dogs three dogs barking and jumping on the door. I used my body to hold it closed and told him to get through the gate he slowly with his cane finally got out and I ran and shut the gate just in time. it was always an adventure with him.

  What interests me is that in every culture you find the same story. if you use the bible it's angels and some gods but all over the world you have other writings with these same superior beings they always fly and demand that humans do their will and seem to want some kind of worship. I don't know for sure who they really are but it seems odd that everybody is telling the same story so I'm inclined to think that we've been tampered with and as a result we suffer from stockholm syndrome.
